David E. Dudick, Chief Executive Officer
On August 1, 2016, the Plano Synergy Board of Directors appointed David E. Dudick Sr. Chief Executive Officer. David has an impressive track record of success combining deep executive management experience, strategic business leadership, an understanding of changing consumers and customer dynamics to produce best-in-class financial performance.
Mr. Dudick had a distinguished career at General Mills spanning over three decades both in the U.S. and internationally. In 2014, David was named Senior Vice President, President General Mills Canada, where he ran a standalone business unit that delivered unprecedented growth in revenue and profit. During his tenure at General Mills, he progressed through many roles with increasing responsibility. He was promoted to Corporate Office in 2007 as Vice President, U.S. Channels and subsequently in 2010 to Senior Vice President, President U.S. Channels. He later served as Senior Vice President, President Convenience and Foodservice and posted record earnings from 2012 to 2014.
David has been on the Board of Directors for ENACTUS, is a member of National Association of Corporate Directors, an Executive Network member of Glencoe Capital Private Equity Firm and previously served as a board member of St. Joseph’s University – Academy of Food Marketing.
Over his career, David has earned many awards, certifications and recognitions. He is a Mensa International Member (25-year affiliation), was featured and honored by Wilkes University Alumni organization as distinguished alumni, featured on Fox Business News’ “American Icon” and has been a guest lecturer at the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
David received a Bachelor’s degree from Wilkes University, a Master’s degree from St. Joseph’s University and a Juris Doctorate from Temple University.
Ryan Busbice, President
Ryan Busbice joined Plano Synergy in 2013, was promoted to President in 2015 and sits on the board for Plano Synergy Holdings. While overseeing facets of the entire company, Ryan spends most of his time focusing on sales and customer relationships, innovation and new product development. He also leads the company’s Advanced Concepts Tactical Team for Brand and Marketing. Prior to the Plano Synergy Holdings merger in 2013, Ryan served as President/CEO of Synergy Outdoors for 10 years.
Ryan is most characterized for his persistent and entrepreneurial nature. His outdoor career began just after college when he and his brother, Matt, began experimenting to create a powerful, long-range deer attractant. Ryan is a team player who utilizes a uniquely respectful and approachable management style to inspire and motivate his team to be – and do – their best. He strives to be a problem-solver and does not like to take no for an answer.
Ryan holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.
David Magness, Executive Vice President – Supply Chain
Dave Magness is Executive Vice President of Supply Chain at Plano Synergy, with responsibility for the entire value chain of the company including planning, procurement, global sourcing, manufacturing, transportation, warehousing, quality and customer service. Prior to joining Plano Synergy, Dave worked in a similar role for Red Wing Shoe Company. He also spent 20 years with General Mills in various operation roles.
Dave’s greatest strengths are his strong work ethic, drive and leadership. He thrives on challenges, particularly those that expand the company’s reach.
Dave holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Mathematics from the United States Naval Academy. He served five years in the United State Marine Corps.
Mark Tripp, Chief Financial Officer
Mark Tripp joined Plano Synergy in 2016 as the Chief Financial Officer, and oversees the Finance and Information Technology functions.
Prior to joining Plano Synergy, Mark was Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer of BRG Sports, formerly known as Easton-Bell Sports. In this role, he led the company’s global financial, operations and information technology teams for a business generating approximately $850 million in sales (prior to the divestiture of the Easton businesses).
Mark joined Easton Sports as CFO in 2001 and led the merger to create Easton-Bell Sports in 2006. Previously, he was Group Director of Finance for Black & Decker from 1998-2001, and a Controller at Corning, Inc. from 1991-1998. Starting in 1984, Mark spent seven years at Deloitte & Touche, first in audit and then as a Tax Manager.
Mark graduated from the State University of New York at Binghamton with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and later received a Master’s degree in Accounting from Clarkson University.
Chris Barley, Chief Commercialization Officer
Chris Barley came to Plano Synergy by way of Synergy Outdoors, which he co-founded in 2002. Chris has been involved in almost every facet of the business: supply chain, demand planning, engineering, new product development, consumer care, customer service, sales, mergers and acquisitions, marketing, brand management and operations. His breadth of understanding for what it takes to keep the company afloat positioned him to lead the overall product commercialization efforts of Plano Synergy as Chief Commercialization & Strategy Officer.
Before entering the outdoor industry, Chris spent five years working in strategy and corporate development at Transamerica Corporation and JC Penney. In 2000, he left corporate America behind and purchased a small wildlife feeder manufacturing company in South Texas with his brother-in-law, Brandon Roach. This company would grow into one of two foundational companies in Synergy Outdoors and, ultimately, an essential element of Plano Synergy Holdings.
Chris received a BBA in International Business and Finance from Loyola University New Orleans.
Jackie Werblo, Chief People Officer
Jackie Werblo joined Plano Synergy in 2015 as Chief People Officer. Viewing the people as a key driver of Plano Synergy’s success, she assures a deep pipeline of talent and provides the pathways for team members to engage, develop and flourish. She enjoys working within industries that design and engineer products because of the passion employees bring to their work every day.
Prior to joining Plano Synergy, Jackie served as Chief People Officer for Easton-Bell Sports for nearly ten years, developing the first integrated HR function for the business following the merger and integration of multiple brands within sporting goods. Among her accomplishments at Easton-Bell was the creation of a global college internship program which landed talented students from schools renowned for product engineering and industrial design programs.
Jackie has more than twenty years of experience in human resources leadership within consumer goods, transportation and retail. She was an organizational consultant to several consumer brands and healthcare organizations for more than five years.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from DePaul University, and Master of Science degree in Human Resources from Loyola University (Chicago). Jackie is currently pursuing post-graduate work at the University of Texas-Dallas in Executive Coaching and Organizational Development.
Josie Benkers, General Counsel
Ms. Benkers joined Plano Synergy as the company’s General Counsel in May 2015. She is a member of the company’s Executive Committee and is responsible for overseeing the Plano Synergy companies’ legal affairs including litigation, intellectual property and corporate matters.
Prior to joining Plano Synergy, Ms. Benkers was a partner at Quarles & Brady LLP where she specialized in the areas of general commercial and intellectual property litigation. At Quarles & Brady, Ms. Benkers handled a wide variety of commercial disputes including patent infringement, trade secret, copyright infringement, trademark, false advertising, breach of contract, fraud, UCC claims, insurance coverage, breach of restrictive covenants, real estate, employment, licensing and various other business disputes. Outside of the litigation context, Ms. Benkers counseled clients on business practices in multiple areas, including securing and protecting intellectual property, advertising, regulatory and environmental issues, document retention issues and other general business advice.
Josie obtained her Juris Doctorate, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin. She also obtained a Bachelor’s of Science, magna cum laude, in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
